Who killed Juilet?

In the classic play written by William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet, there is a huge murder mystery at the end of this tragic love story.Juliet dies in the last part of the masterfully written play and everyone questions who the culprit was in one of the biggest deaths in literature history. There are many different answers to this question. For example, people could say that Juilets father killed her because she did not want to marry the man he chose for her. This enraged Juliets father in an earlier scene in the play so people could argue that he could not stand to see his daughter disobey his orders so much that he was responsible for her death.Also some people may think that Tybalt killed Juliet based on his disgust for the Montague family. But i honestly think that Juliet killed herself. I think this because Juliet had so much pressure put on her from her father and everyone else that she suffered heavy depression and decided that its not worthwhile to live.

RHETHORICAL DEVICES

The classic poem, Romeo and Juliet is filled with a ton of rhetorical devices. What is a rhetorical device you ask? A rhetorical device is something that is mostly used in poetry, that is used to evoke an emotional response in the reader, and get they're attention. A common rhetorical device that most people know is the metaphor. A metaphor is something used in writing that describes an emotion by comparing it to something that in most cases would never be placed in the same sentence with the word. Metaphors add an whole new meaning to a sentence and paints an artistic picture in your read for how well it is described. Metaphors are heavily used in Shakespeare's writing and it is featured alot throughout Romeo and Juliet. One example of a metaphor in Romeo and Juliet is in act 2, scene 2 when Romeo uses the metaphor "It is the west and Juliet is the sun" to describe Juliets beauty. He is basically stating that Juliet is as beautiful as the sun rising which displays a much more romantic and emotional descriptions of his loved to her whereas if he just said Juliet is beautiful.

Gender stereotyping in Romeo and Juliet

There is one big gender stereotype that is used in the Romeo and Juliet movie/book and that is that women are weaker then men. An example of this is when the Montague boys and  Capulet boys are fighting, and the women are shown as weak fragile people by making them run away and hitting one of the boys with a handbag. Another stereotype is Juliet"s mother. She is portrayed as a bitchey women that screams a majority of the time and is quite annoying.

The role of fate is something that is greatly emphasized in Hollywood romances and is used to make it seem like the perfect person is out there waiting for you. In my opinion "fate" is something that is fictional, and to find true love you have to go searching for it, the perfect person wont just show up out of no where and sweep you off your feet. But in today's society people seem to believe that when they found someone who they have a considerable amount of feelings for, that it was all due to fate. An example of people ending up together because of "fate" is the movie just wright staring Queen Latifah and rapper Common. This movie tells the cliche story of "fate" as Queen Latifah plays a woman who is searching for love, but always ends up being in the friend zone with a guy. This is until she meets the star player of the New York Nicks played by Common, and they go through a long journey of love and denial until they end up falling in love. So as I was saying earlier i do not believe in the word "fate" and I think it is just another sugar coated Hollywood term.

review of knock knock by Daniel Beaty

When i was about 30 seconds into this video I was already left speechless by the pure emotion Daniel Beaty displays when talking about the precious moments a child spends with their father. After he says the words "knock knock" this heart felt story of the relationship between father and son dramatically turns into the dark tale of when a child loses their father from their life. I suddenly realize the meaning of the words "knock knock" and how it is explaining the void this helpless child felt, that he couldn't have his father to watch him turn into a man and guide him along the way. After this he starts to explain how as a father he tried to be the greatest father he can be, so his son wouldn't have to go through the same thing he went through as a child. After being utterly impressed by the hip-hop like poem that moved my soul (I could go on and on about how i loved this poem) I realized the main message of this poem. The message of this poem is how we have  the power to make our children live the best lives possible, even if we live a bad one. This relates to the help because Minnie lived a bad life but she still gave every ounce of her soul to make sure May Moubley lived like a little queen.
